Why 200KB?

Meet strict image upload limits

Some application and upload portals limit an image to 200KB or less. A phone photo can be several megabytes even when it looks small on screen. SizeOK gives you a clear target instead of making you guess which quality percentage will pass.

Requirements vary. Always check the destination website's format, dimensions, aspect ratio, minimum size, and other photo requirements.

How it works

  1. Choose an image. Select one or more JPG or PNG images from your device.
  2. Set the target. This page starts with a 200KB maximum.
  3. Compress locally. Your image is processed in your browser, not uploaded to an image-processing server.
  4. Check and save. Review the final bytes, then save or share the result.

Why target-size compression?

Traditional compressors often ask for a quality percentage. That can leave you guessing whether the final file will pass a form's limit. SizeOK works from the requirement itself: the output must stay at or below 200KB.

The result may be 180KB, 195KB, or another valid size. SizeOK does not artificially enlarge a file just to reach exactly 200KB.

JPEG and PNG images

JPEG is usually more efficient for photographs. PNG can be useful for transparency, graphics, screenshots, and text, but complex PNG files may need a larger resolution reduction to fit a small target.

The destination website may require a specific format. Check its instructions before uploading.

Use SizeOK on mobile

SizeOK works on iPhone, Android, and desktop browsers. No installation or account is required. You can also add it to your home screen as a PWA.

Select multiple images when you need to prepare a batch. The current batch limit is 20 files.

Local processing for private images

Your images are processed on your device. SizeOK does not upload them to an image-processing server.

This can be useful for personal photos, identity-related images, application documents, screenshots, and work files.

Important limitations

Frequently asked questions

What does “compress to 200KB” mean?

The final file must be no larger than 200KB. SizeOK treats 200KB as a strict maximum byte limit.

Will my image always be exactly 200KB?

No. It will be at or below 200KB. The final size depends on the image content and encoder.

Does SizeOK upload my image?

No. Image processing happens locally in your browser.

Can I compress multiple images?

Yes. You can select up to 20 images in one batch.

Can I use SizeOK on iPhone or Android?

Yes. SizeOK works in current mobile browsers and can be added to the home screen.

Can I compress a PNG to 200KB?

You can try. Complex PNG images may need reduced dimensions to fit the target, and the destination may require a particular format.

Will a visa or government website accept my result?

SizeOK cannot guarantee acceptance. Check the destination's complete photo and file requirements.

Why is my result 180KB or 195KB instead of exactly 200KB?

200KB is a maximum, not a required exact output. SizeOK keeps the best valid result without exceeding the limit.

Do I need to install anything?

No. SizeOK runs in your browser.

Is SizeOK free?

Yes. SizeOK is free to use and requires no signup.
